• Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure SQL Server database solutions to meet business needs.

• Analyze database performance issues, implement optimization strategies, and fine-tune SQL queries to ensure efficient data retrieval.

• Implement and enforce database security policies, manage user permissions, and safeguard sensitive data against unauthorized access.

• Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans, perform regular backups, and ensure data recovery in case of system failures or data corruption.

• Manage routine maintenance tasks, including indexing, updating statistics, and cleaning up outdated or unused data.

• Configure and maintain high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, replication, and log shipping to ensure data availability and resilience.

• Set up monitoring tools and alerts to identify issues proactively, troubleshoot performance problems, and resolve database-related incidents.

• Assess current and future database storage and processing needs, plan capacity upgrades, and allocate resources efficiently.

• Work closely with software developers to design and optimize database schemas, support application development, and review stored procedures.

• Ensure databases comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Perform regular audits and provide documentation as needed.

• Develop scripts and automation processes for routine tasks, such as deployments, monitoring, and maintenance, to improve operational efficiency.

• Lead and mentor junior DBAs and team members, provide training, and share best practices to build a strong database administration team.
