Role Summary

The IAM Automation Engineer will design, develop, and optimize Azure-based Identity & Access Management (IAM) automation solutions. This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance identity lifecycle and governance automation using PowerShell, .NET, and Azure-native services within a DevOps-driven environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development & Engineering

  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade IAM automation solutions using PowerShell, .NET, and Bicep.
  • Build and maintain automation for IAM services, including:
    • Certificate lifecycle management
    • User and object provisioning and deprovisioning
    • B2B access policies
    • Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and native group management
  • Ensure automation solutions are secure, reusable, scalable, and compliant with enterprise standards.

Azure-Based Automation Solutions

  • Leverage Azure-native services to build event-driven and scalable automation, including:
    • Azure API Management
    • Azure Service Bus
    • Azure Container Apps
    • Azure Function Apps
  • Design resilient integrations capable of supporting high-volume IAM transactions with reliability and fault tolerance.

Quality, Performance & Security

  • Deliver high-quality, performance-optimized automation capable of handling bulk IAM operations.
  • Implement best practices for:
    • Error handling and exception management
    • Logging, monitoring, and alerting
    • Security controls and access governance
  • Ensure solutions align with identity governance, audit, and compliance requirements.

DevOps & CI/CD Collaboration

  • Work within a DevOps-driven delivery model using:
    • Azure DevOps or GitHub for source control
    • CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to support continuous delivery and operational excellence.

Strategic & Innovation Contributions

  • Align automation initiatives with IAM strategic roadmaps and service objectives.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Sonnet to:
    • Improve development efficiency
    • Enhance code quality
    • Drive innovation across IAM automation services

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience in IAM automation and enterprise-scale solution design.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • PowerShell
    • .NET
    • Bicep
  • In-depth knowledge of IAM technologies, including:
    • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • Active Directory
  • Experience managing end-to-end automation lifecycles, including scheduling, orchestration, deployment, and maintenance across multiple environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with product management, project teams, QA, and operations for seamless production rollout.
